When you right click on an item (or select all and right click), the contextual menu has a number of options for creating PDFs. Unfortunately, for me nothing happens when I select any of these. Am I missing something or is this not working yet?

For what it's worth, I'd very much like to be able to collect a newspaper into a PDF than I can e-mail my wife.

Do you see the same options when you right-click on a page in IE? I think they are probably part of IE's behaviour. Precisely what options appear would depend on the particular PDF creation software you have installed, such as Adobe Acrobat.

If you choose 'Print', do you have the option to print as a PDF file?
