I do not seem to be able to delete a folder I've created. When I choose "Unsubscribe" and click the Unsubscribe button the folder looks like it disappears. Then, about 5 seconds later it recreates itself.
This is an empty folder with no feeds. I'm running the latest beta, NNW 3.2b28 (this behaviour was also occurring in previous beta versions).
Please help!

Is the folder showing up in Google Reader, too? If not, I think it's a 'stuck' folder in NNW due to a bug in an earlier beta build.
I had this problem too and after installing Snow Leopard (full disk wipe) the folder disappeared. Not a very handy fix, I realize...

The folder was showing in Google Reader, and I tried deleting it there to see if it would sync that deletion back to NNW, but alas, no luck.
I am having a no luck with synchronization between NNW and Google Reader though, so I'm not surprised.
Surely this is a bug, so while NNW remains beta I'll accept it. I hope it is a known issue, and we might see a resolution in future updates.

I finally solved my own problem, and at the same time I think I fixed my syncing issues.
Solution? I trashed NNW and all the associated preference files and did a clean reinstall. Then, I connected the fresh NNW install with Google Reader and everything seems better.
Refreshing feeds is now lightning fast, and read status syncs immediately with Google Reader. And, the persistent folder I couldn't delete? It's gone!

I am having a similar problem, where a folder at the top level (named "blogger-following") exists with one random folder under it. I have tried all possible permutations of unsubscribing from the child folder first, etc. Invariably I get the same result: the folder will disappear for 3-8 seconds, then reappear with the subfolder. I am synching to Google Reader, and I did initially find the suspect folders in GR and unsubscribed from them successfully there. But they seem to be ghosts of some sort in the standalone NNW client, which I am running on a Mac.
Following a suggestion in this thread, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, thinking the synch with GR would be gone but alas the settings are saved someplace that I can't suss, because it comes back exactly as before. I looked in my Library (user and general) and found nothing.
Any suggestions on how to either solve the problem or get a fresh install of NNW on my Mac to see if that takes care of it? Thanks!

We're working on a fix. (I don't know that there's anything you can do right now to fix it.)
Also: please switch to the Google Group -- we'll be closing the NetNewsWire/Mac forum in favor of the Google Group here:

Success! I was able to get a clean install by following the instructions here:
http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic53218-9-1.aspx?Highlight=uninstall+mac
Now the ghost folders are gone. I will make future posts in the appropriate forum.
