With the release of NNW 2.0 for iPhone I have decided to stop experimenting (for the moment to see if the iPhone client continues to be developed and isn't seemingly abandoned like the last version) and go back to NNW on Mac and iPhone exclusively. The main obstacle now - annoying but relatively minor bugs aside - seems to be the lacking of syncing Starred items to and from the desktop version. Any news on this feature being implemented (I've given up holding my breath when it comes to NNW)?
Otherwise is there a work around?

But it isn't working in 3.2 final. At least not for me. Syncs NNW to GR, but not bi-directional (though release notes say it should) - I need this to get the most from NNW.
Edit several hours late:
I take that back. It does work, but not immediately. Things flagged in NNW are immediately sent to GR, but things starred in GR take a while to show in NNW, and manually refreshing feeds doesn't make a difference. Ah, at least it works eventually.

How did you get it to work? I have several starred items in GR that are not appearing in the Flagged items area in NNW. I've had 3.2 installed for a couple of hours, and it has been open that entire time, but I still see nothing under Flagged items.
I'm really hoping this feature becomes more robust, and I'd love to see syncing of notes as well. I'd be a happy camper when that happens.

I checked myself and agree. When I star an item in NetNewsWire on the Mac it synchs with Google Reader and to NetNewsWire on my iPhone.
When I star an item on my iPhone it synchs with Google Reader but it does not synch back to NetNewsWire on my Mac.
It is this functionality that I would have been able to use instead of clippings. I only used clippings to mark items on my phone that I was interested on and would then read it on my Mac. So Starred Items would work in my case for this but without it synching then back to NetNewswire on the Mac it is pretty much useless.
I did download the latest version this morning to ensure I was indeed running the "golden" version.

Well,
After letting it sit there for a number of hours the items I had starred on my iPhone did finally come over into NetNewsWire. But this should happen from the moment I synch and not what seems to be this random behavior on waiting for a while before synching them.

I've lost the ability to flag items in NNW and keep them flagged...
If I flag an item, as soon as I "synchronize" it's gone. I was noticing that this was a problem and I just tested it. So at this point, I'm unable to flag anything in NNW! (a big problem as that's been a BIG feature for me)
(Let me also say that I'm on version 3.2 and I've purchased a copy)
