So.. I've been waiting patiently for the new version to come out.. it's very slick, but for some reason, the badge count on the app icon has carried over from the old version. Even when I deleted and re-installed, it's still inaccurate. I've attached screenshots.. please help!

The new version doesn't put a badge up for unread items, leaving the old badge behind is a bug in the upgrade process. Rebooting the phone will fix it, doing a sync between delete and reinstall should also fix it (but I'm not positive about that).
Please note that I am not actually employed by NewsGator, and my opinions should not be taken as their official stance on any matter. I'm just a happy FD user (since pre-1.0 alpha in 2003) helping out where I can.

| A reboot of my iPhone didn't resolve this problem. iPhone is running OS 3.0.

This worked in removing the old badge, but now there's no new badge to reflect current unread count 
I guess I'll have to wait for a fix.. ha. Thanks regardless!

They took the badge out of the app completely. So I dont think a "fix" is coming unfortunately.
As much as I hate to say it, I think my switch to Newsstand is imminent...

I ALSO CONFIRM the way way to get rid of the leftover badge count from NetNewsWire 1 is to delete from iPhone, FORCE REBOOT OF IPHONE, then reinstall. The 2nd step is required to fix this.
Having the badge gone does stink. I can't believe they've taken that nice feature off!

| The answer is, as always, "as soon as possible." There are too many variables to predict when that will be (not least of all that the App Store review process can take weeks).
