| So I break down and paid the $10 even though I was a paid NNW customer before it was made free. Now the current version won't check for updates and tells me to check my internet connection. VT says there is a 3.2.1 version available. Is NNW going to start charging for even minor updates now? Paying twice for an app is one thing, but to immediately have all upgrades blocked is pushing things a bit.

| Chill out, the update server is down for whatever reason, we're all getting errors (beta and release users). v3.2.1 is the next beta, download it from the beta page if you want it. The current release product is 3.2.

| Is it confirmed that the update server is down? After trying to check for updates spaced out over several days, it's always the same error. I'm concerned it could be that the update mechanism in this version of NNW is broken.

hi, the lack of response to posts and status information makes it difficult to chill out.
i've continued to support netnewswire by purchasing 3.2 and the iphone app (just this past week), but i'm increasingly dissatisfied with the user support experience. the apps just work, but i've come to expect more.
let's hope things improve and either brent gets the newsgator forum support he needs or he gets caught up on the technical side and can update us on the status and roadmap. i try to keep up by subscribing to rss feeds from inessential.com, ranchero.com, nnwbeta.com (seem to consolidating to ranchero.com) and also subscribe to the mailing list. there's been little to no updates regarding the update issue.
as it stands, the lack of info breeds discontent.
if i'm off-base, sorry. my intent is to be supportive but to echo concern from the community.
thx, george

Also, keep an eye on another post I've made regarding what options are for paid users of NNW (ironically they have not responded). It is not clear on the support page whether purchasing NNW entitles a user to actual support (from the company), not just forum posting hoping that somehow their questions will be randomly answered.
I'll be blunt. If I purchase a product, I expect some kind of direct support, whether it's email, chat, or phone. If a company can't provide that, I'll find someone else who will.

IME, the 3.2 "release" version generates an update error when using "Check for Updates". Whether it's a server issue or a bug, I don't know, but server issues are usually transient, and this has been consistently repeatable for days now.

| It would be safest to assume that it's a bug with the program, so just subscribe to one of Newsgator's RSS feeds or twitter account so you can be notified about the next update that way.

| It really does seem strange to me that it's all gone quiet. Is everyone on holiday? This has been about a month...

| We've been told that this is a user forum, not a forum to get support from employees, so since this question is pretty much impossible for other users to answer, the bottom line is that it's likely you'll never get an answer to a question like this unless you somehow contact NewsGator directly and they choose to respond to you.
