| Realizing that some dates syncing in the NNW iPhone app are incorrect. A date showing as August shows as current in Google Reader. But the app does correctly recognize it as unread. The incorrect dates go all the way back to 2006. I took some iPhone screenshots as documentation if that would help.

Screenshots *and* URLs of feeds would be quite helpful.
One important thing to know: Google Reader shows the date that it *saw* the item, while NetNewsWire shows the date that is specified the feed. So sometimes the dates and times will be different, just because of that reason.
It's like the difference in an email app between Date Received and Date Sent. Google Reader shows Date Received, while NetNewsWire shows Date Sent.

I guess that seems kind of confusing. Is there a reason for showing a different date than Google Reader? Esp. if the date varies by years?
Here are some images:

Yes, there is a reason for showing the actual date published -- it's because it's *better* than showing the date Google Reader first saw an item. It's good information, sometimes important.
In the case of the "7 Core Principles..." post, it was published Aug. 1, 2009, and that's what NetNewsWire shows.

It would be rare for the date to differ by years, though. Do you have an example feed where that happens? If so, what's the URL of the feed?
