| Google Reader doesn't allow deletion of items. When GR synchronises with FD it assumes that the post has not been received and it is therefore downloaded again. Simply allow the post to be marked as read instead.

Nick, for the people who use the delete option, it may be a good idea to keep a list of deleted item's identifiers, so that FD will know not to re-download and show them. Maybe keep them as regular "read" items with some internal flag set to not show them when viewing or searching feeds?
Either that, or get rid of the delete option altogether. I expect that some people (those who delete posts) really won't like it, but it's probably still better than an inconsistent behaviour where some deleted items are kept being downloaded over and over again. I think...

I think yarondav makes a great point. Deletes have always been a pesky thing.

| If it's not possible to do anything about deleted items, I suggest that an answer about this be added to the help or FAQ and perhaps a sticky topic be added to the top of the forum list.
