I am sure this is no longer a weird coincidence. I have noticed that, 8 times out of 10, my internet connection drops soon after downloading podcasts from within Feeddemon, using the built in Feedstation. I initiate the download by clicking the paperclip icon on a feed topic from within Feeddemon.
Normally my internet connection is rock solid but on these occasions it just quits out - all email and web traffic fails. I restart my router, redownload the podcasts using Feedstation and it works fine the second time around.
I have observed this for over a year and a half and have decided to post it in the hope that it is a recognised issue and that a possible workarond could be offered (a quick search on this forum suggested that it has not been noticed).
I have had this happen on Vista (32 bit); I am now using Windows 7 32 bit. Feeddemon/Feedstation 3.0.0.41.
Any clues?
Thanks
Andrew

| Hi Andrew, FeedStation uses standard Windows routines for downloading files, and I've never had a similar report, so I'd be very surprised if the software is the culprit. More likely the problem is caused by a faulty router, or simply a faulty ISP. Googling for "internet drop connection" shows that this is a fairly common problem, and it's not caused by any specific piece of software. Sorry I can't be more help than that! Best,
Nick Bradbury

Thanks for the prompt reply Nick. I can well imagine it is my router (as it is very old now and I daren't update the firmware) but I find I rarely ever complete downloading podcasts the first time when using Feedstation.
Still, not a massive issue. Thought I would post on the off chance others had experienced it.
Regards
Andrew
