This may well have been already suggested...

I tend to read all the feeds together at once, but sometimes I don't have time to read through them all, and I find it a bit disruptive to have to click on the tiny 'mark as read' icon for each news item. What I'd like to do is just select 'all feeds' as normal, and start reading from the top, scrolling down, but have another button at the end of each feed. Selecting this button means "mark all feeds from this one up to the top of the page as read".

That way I can just start reading at the top and keep scrolling - when I want a break or need to switch to doing something else, I just need one button click to effectively 'mark' where I reached.

Hmm...interesting idea.

In the meantime, you could use the "mark all posts on this page as read" buttons at the top and bottom of the page...would that work for you?

When you read all of your feeds at once from the My Feeds root, clicking on the "mark all posts on this page as read" button will mark all 50 or so items on the first page as read.

I think Chris is saying that there are times when he only gets through a portion of those 50 items and wants to be able to mark his place. "Mark all posts" marks too many posts as read, and marking each individual posts marks too few as read.

I really like his idea of "Mark above posts as read". I run into this same situation, and this feature would help.

Yes, evkittleman is correct, I tend to read all feeds at once, it's just that sometimes there's enough text on one page that I get through about half of it and then get distracted, so I just want to say "mark all as read up to this point".

Is there anyone else that would find this useful?

Meanwhile I will get a feature written up on this for you to get the ball rolling, but encourage more comments and feedback as they are always helpful.
