This may sound odd, but I'd prefer that only non-Newsgator items appear in my Deleted Items. Once Newsgator items are added to the mix, they're so numerous that they all but drown out my deleted mail, which I tend to access much more often than deleted Newsgator items.
So is there a way of having Newsgator items go elsewhere when deleted? This would probably be some Outlook trick.
Thanks

Howdy
Simplyvhold the shift key down when you deletean item from your newsgator folders and it will skip the deleted folder altogether

| Just like Windows itself does with the Recycle Bin, hadn't thought of that, but the downside is that the items really would be gone, and you're prompted to answer a "Are you really sure you want to do that, punk?" prompt each time.

| You know, we _might_ be able to get deleted items to go somewhere else, but I would think that would be confusing for most users...

Outlook 2003 does prompt, and though there's probably an option or setting buried somewhere to turn it off, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do so.
It's not a big deal, but if you think of a way of having deleted items mingle on their own somewhere (optionally), it would be pretty nice. I suppose it would be along the lines of a "Deleted Gator Items" folder under the main Gator folder, alongside the feeds.

| I think I figured it out: Views. If you go into Deleted Items and right-click the column header, you can select Customize Current View for that folder. In there you can select a Filter for any number of criteria. The trick is figuring out which one would distinguish Newsgator items from mail. I notice that all Newsgator items have "Posted To" and "Conversation" fields, but otherwise they're pretty indistinguishable from mail. So it's only half figured out, but Views are powerful and set correctly it's likely this will do the trick. All items will still live in the same folder, but by switching views you'd be able to see them all or just one or the other.

Try changing to Arrange by "Type". That should separate "Messages" (like email) with "Posts" (like NewsGator posts).

| Tip of the Week! Yes, that's brilliant and works perfectly. Arrange By is so set-it-and-forget-it that I forgot about it completely, but I never even noticed "Type" before. Thanks.
