Hi all,

We've had to make a change to our RSS p****r which is going to cause quite a few feeds to show up as all unread.  This will affect all RSS 1.0 feeds, which is a good portion of the feeds in the system.

This is a one-time event, and should happen over the next 2-3 hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience - believe me, we tried to think of a way to avoid this side effect!

For those who are curious...we're changing the way we uniquely identify items in RSS 1.0 feeds.  This will fix problems with certain feeds like Boing Boing and Slashdot showing duplicate content multiple times throughout the day...we will now correctly identify an edited post as an edit, rather than a new post, and the content will be updated rather than duplicated.
