I would be happy to pay more then $29 for a product that let me get rid of Outlook Express for news reading and posting.  Posting is key for me though.  I saw that it's coming in a "future release".  How far out is that?

We will definitely have another major release before the end of the year...however, I'm not sure if a post to newsgroup feature will be included in that release.

There isn't any specific holdup; it just never made it above the line for release in 2.0.

Up to now, it would have been difficult to write a plug-in that would have seamlessly integrated into NewsGator to allow posting to NNTP newsgroups; however, with the new API support in 2.0, it would be possible to write an extension/plug-in combination that could do this.

So it's definitely do-able now, if you care to give it a whirl!

What I would like is the option to post with multiple aliases and set a default alias but I suspect it will relate to the outlook profile email address.

A default account for news would be good as wont accidently post my main email address on public newsgroups.

I have searched high and low for a newsgroup solution for outlook. I am still annoyed how Microsoft include it in their free express product. Using Exchange client from 1994 in beta and Outlook since 97 (yuck) to Outlook 2003 now.

In a similar vein, is there a plug-in available to post to forums like these?  If so, which one would I use?
